Police Officer & Docent for SC Tobacco Museum

We are currently looking to fill the position of Docent at the South Carolina Tobacco Museum. Our Docent must be a knowledgeable guide, conducting visitors through the museum while delivering commentary on the exhibits.

We are looking for someone to take our museum into the future. They must possess marketing experience, computer skills, social media experience and a willingness to get out into the public and share information about the Museum. The Museum also operates a small gift shop that will be included in the Docent’s responsibilities. Salary is negotiable.

The Museum is open 5 days a week. Traffic through the museum includes local visitors and travelers passing through as well as groups that have scheduled a tour. There may be a need to open on the weekend for groups that have made special arrangements or for special events.

Applicant must also meet the following qualifications: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Working knowledge of computers; comprehensive knowledge of word processing, with emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel software packages. Ability to effectively meet and deal with the public; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to handle stressful situations. Ability to maintain confidential, sensitive material. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers, city employees and public. Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone and cash register.

The City of Mullins is now accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer.  Must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid SC driver’s license, have a high school diploma or GED.
